Gehirn Powers TBS NEWS DIG’s New Disaster Prevention Information Distribution Platform

Gehirn Inc. (Headquartered in Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo; CEO: Daiki Ishimori; hereinafter ‘Gehirn’) has commenced the provision of its disaster prevention information delivery infrastructure for the integrated news website “TBS NEWS DIG Powered by JNN” and disaster prevention and news app “TBS NEWS DIG Disaster Prevention/News by JNN”, both operated by TBS/JNN NEWS DIG, LLC. (Located in Minato-ku, Tokyo; Representative: TOKYO BROADCASTING SYSTEM TELEVISION, INC.), which is run by 28 JNN-affiliated stations.

Licensed Disaster Information Distribution Infrastructure

Each implemented part, from the UI (user interface) components, Web API, CDN (content distribution network), integrated disaster information processing platform, map engine and map data, push notification distribution platform and rendering engine used in the ‘NERV Disaster Prevention’ app developed by Gehirn, the various data, systems and platforms required for developing disaster prevention apps, including text generation services and earthquake motion forecast data, were made into services and provided to TBS/JNN NEWS DIG, LLC. in the form of a licence for use.

About the ‘TBS NEWS DIG Disaster Prevention/News by JNN’ App

Launched on April 18th, 2022, the app is a new news media platform integrating 28 JNN-affiliated stations with TBS TV as the key station. It brings together on one website a wealth of content independently covered and edited by each of the stations. In addition to news bulletins and 24-hour live feeds, the app provides both mass media and micro-media functions, such as push notifications of disaster prevention information and location-linked information tailored to the user's area.

Gehirn contributed to the rapid launch of the service by providing the infrastructure for disaster prevention information distribution. We will continue to strengthen our disaster prevention information distribution services further.
